Heather...sorry, but i liked these a little too much to not steal them. Hope you don't mind... :)

Things i miss about being a kid:

-how you could run through the sprinkler for hours.
-how when you got a cut or scrape, a band-aid would make it feel better
-how you didn't like shopping and you wanted your mom to pick out clothes for you.
-how it didn't matter what kind of shoes you wore because you usually wore tennis shoes every day to play recess.
-how your best friend could come over every single day, even on school days, to play.
-how you enjoyed riding your bike.
-how you enjoyed being with your family.
-how you didn't care how you looked in pictures, you just smiled.
-how you didn't have to worry about what you smelled like, even if you played outside for two hours.
-how you liked to be outside.
-how you only wore your hair up or down.
-how girls chased boys around the playground (and vice versa) and that didn't mean that you were in love with them.
-and then how boys suddenly had cooties and you didn't want to play with them anymore.
-how you could play in the pool for hours.
-how your mom packed your lunch everyday.
-how homework was something you HAD to do. (or at least, your parents made sure you did it.)
-how you wanted to answer the teachers questions in school.
-how you believed what your parents (or any adult) told you.
-how many times you were told not to talk to strangers.
-how it wasn't a big deal to make new friends.
-or be somewhere without your friends or someone you knew.
-how you didn't have to worry if your breath smelled bad after eating something.
-how you didn't want to buy the shortest and tightest things you could find in the store.
-how fascinating bugs and animals were.
-how you couldn't sleep in on saturday mornings, so you got up to watch cartoons.
-how you wanted to be the line leader, or the hall monitor, or the bathroom monitor--who made sure everyone washed their hands before lunch.
-how you didn't like fire drills or tornado drills just because they got you out of class.
-how you were never embarrassed.
-how you didn't want anyone to see you cry.
-how it was a compliment to be called a big boy or girl.
-how short recess seemed to be.
-how you counted down to your birthday and felt so much older after it passed.
-how you wanted to grow up faster.
-how learning to write cursive was what you looked forward to.
-how you had cubbies in your classroom and didn't have to carry a heavy bookbag around all day.
-how you wanted your teachers to like you.
-how everyone was always telling you to call 911 in an emergency.
-how you could listen to any radio station.
-how you got sent to your room as punishment.
-how curse words were so bad and evil.
-as was flipping someone off.
-how the only thing you wanted to drive was the go carts at disney world.
-how little things amused you, like your mom wiping flour on your nose.
-how you always wanted to follow your mom around.
-how your parents did almost all of your school projects.
-how you always enjoyed playing sports, just for the trophies at the end of the season.
-how you would sleep with your parents if you got scared.
-how proud of yourself you were when you knew your phone number and address by heart.
-how you just read to get the most AR points in the class.
-how all poems had to rhyme.
-how you ALWAYS had to have hot chocolate after coming in from the snow.
-how you looked forward to decorating the christmas tree. and always wanted to put the angel or star on top.
-how you liked to draw.
-how you could eat all you wanted, but never gained any weight.
-how you had to get ice cream from the ice cream truck every day of the summer, even if you had ice cream sitting in the freezer.
-or if the ice cream truck came to the pool, everyone would get out and while they waited their feet would burn on the pavement, but the ice cream was worth it.
-how you tried to hold your breath really long underwater.
-how it was fun to play in the sand at the beach.
-how sledding was something you had to do if it snowed.
-how you liked to play in puddles on the street.
-how you liked to play in the street.
-how you had a bedtime, and you always wanted to stay up later.
-how everyone had school spirit, and thought it was cool to show it on appropriate days.
-how you liked to make paper airplanes, even if they couldn't fly.
-how you liked sidewalk chalk.
-how every friend you had said "friends for life" but you still only had one BEST friend.
